This one has longer snake-hair, red eyes, and red fangs. For some reason her body turned out very small, I'm not quite sure what I did. I want to try another one with even LONGER snakes! But first I have to fill the requests the kids have made for : "Spartan" and then "Knight". And I promised a friend an octopus.
Also I have become obsessed with a crocheted flower shawl (or scarf) pattern which apparently comes from a book written in Japanese... and then several French bloggers figured out the pattern and one even posted it on her blog but the publishers of the book (rightfully) asked for all the copyright infringements to cease. Anyway, I would buy the book but since I do not read Japanese I don't think it would help me very much (I also don't really understand how to read crochet charts, but I am trying to learn! For situations like this one!) ANYWAY an American blogger (Ellen Bloom) who figured out the flowers has some lovely pictures on her blog so you might want to visit there to see what I am talking about. Here it is on Ravelry (although you may need to be signed up with that sight in order to look at pictures and stuff... I'm not sure..) And here is a link to one of the French crochet blogs which has a beautiful picture of her finished shawl and links ("ici ici ici") to other bloggers (all French) who made the shawl.
I have seriously spent many many hours wandering around the Internet researching this pattern. Obsessed. I am determined to crochet a lovely flower scarf or shawl. There is a flower scarf pattern in "Stitch and Bitch Crochet" book (which I own) but the flowers are much more simple and I don't like them as well as these beautiful flowers I am seeing on people's blogs, so I am going to try to combine the SnB pattern with my vague chart-reading knowledge (and rusty French comprehension) to try to create what I have in my head.
Ooohhhkaaaay that was pretty interesting!

Oh, this is your best Medusa yet!
The Japanese crochet flower shawl is lovely. I especially liked the picture in the Ellen Bloom link of the crochet flower MASK!
