Monkey!

My sister had gotten a "kit" to "knit your own sock monkey" (is it really a sock monkey if it is not actually made out of socks?) and it proved to be a bit challenging so she gave it to me. It was definitely not something for a beginner knitter! It took me about a year, knitting on it on and off, and I finally finished it, and it's pretty darn cute if I do say so myself:

Part of the pattern was a wee scarf and hat for him to bundle up in. Here he is with his little scarf on:

Here he is holding his hat:

Here he is wearing his hat and scarf. The hat didn't really fit right over his ears, but it's still pretty cute:

Of course once I finished him (her? I think I decided it is a "he") I mailed him off to my sister and her family. I hope he doesn't fall apart! That's always a fear I have with the creatures I knit.

Anyway, the pattern was a little annoying, but I did it!

Now to finish my gloves...

That is so cute! Complicated is good--challenging. You did it!

You are amazing! And, yes, I think it would be a SOCK monkey because socks can be knitted too.
